Happy Birthday Gray!!

Happy Birthday Grayson Joseph Self!!!! Gray was born today, May 31st, 2007. He weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. I wish soooo bad that I could have been there!! But we can't wait to meet him REALLY soon. Can y'all believe it?? Parker has a baby cousin! :) Congrats Ash, Jerm, Tyler, Blake, and Sam!! We love y'all!

Update #2 One Month Check Up

Hey Again!

Parker had his one month check up yesterday. It has been two weeks since he last went to the doctor. His last visit he weighed 9lbs. 12 1/2 oz. Well, my friends, he is growing because he now weighs 11lbs. 11oz and he is 22 1/2 inches long!! The doctor said everything was great, once again. He had to get a shot and it was traumatizing(sp?) for me probably more than him. At one point I couldn't even say anything because if I did I would have busted out some tears of my own. I have not heard him scream like that!! It was awful!! At his next appointment he has to get four shots, so Derek is going with me. I just don't think I can handle it by myself or I don't want to. Well, that is it!! Parker is great and beautiful and a perfect baby boy. God is so wonderful!

Our good friend Meagan came in town last week. Her boyfriend, James, plays baseball at South Carolina and he was here playing in the SEC tournament. We were able to go to dinner with them and it was soooo fun!! James got us tickets to his game and we had a great time. Parker slept almost through the whole game.

The other set of pround grandparents. Here is Derek's parents with Parker. We had our first visit there(GA) this past weekend. It was great!! I am not looking forward to bringing Parker home from these trips because he is SO SPOILED there!! :) I have a feeling it will take a couple of days to get him back in the routine of "I don't get everything I want when I am home with mom and dad". Ha ha!! Derek and I are so blessed to have great parents. Actually, Parker is REALLY blessed to have wonderful grandparents.

Pool Bound!!

Parker went to the pool this weekend at his Nanny and PaPa's house in Georgia. As you can tell he really likes laying out. We haven't put him in the water quite yet, but he loved just being out there. He looks so tiny in that lounge chair. Ha ha!

Update

I wanted to give you an update. Parker went to the doctor this last Tuesday, May 15th. He weighed 9 lbs. 12 1/2 oz. The doctor checked him all out and gave us an A+. I really like Dr. Levin, Parker's pediatrician. Parker did great. We have to go back in two weeks for a Hep. B shot. :( But no worries, Parker is a trooper. Anyways, we have a healthy, growing boy!! PTL!

Just another day in Parker's life

Today was Parker's first time in his deluxe gym. He liked it,
but he would only look to the right. I have no idea what he was looking at
but whatever it was entertained him.

My head looks HUGE compared to him. He might be gaining weight, but he is still so little.

This is quite funny. We had to take a picture of Parker laying with his legs straight out because this is how he sleeps a lot of the time. Sometimes he will poke his bottom in the air, but other times he sleeps with his legs straight out. What newborn does that?? I think he takes after his dad, extremely relaxed and laid back. I am happy with that.

Happy Mother's Day!!

So, it was my first Mother's Day and it was wonderful!! We decided last minute to go to the 8:00am church service and as I was changing Parker, Derek walked in the room with a gift from Parker for Mother's Day. My husband is so thoughtful and always seems to surprise me (that is hard to do).
Well, happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful Mom's out there. A special shout out to my Mom, who I love so much and couldn't imagine life without her. Also, to my mother-in-law Lynn, my sister Ashley, AND my sister-in-law Kimberly. All of which are GREAT moms and should be told how wonderful they are on a regular basis. I love y'all!!

I gave Parker a bath this morning and put him in this cute outfit. He was so sweet. After his bath he was so relaxed. He was looking at me while I was being silly. Anyways, Derek loves this outfit. I think it is cause he looks really boyish in it. For those of you who don't know...do not be fooled by the combed down hair. It stays that way for maybe 2 minutes after his bath. Then it is sticking straight up everywhere.

My sister, Aunt Ashley(to Parker), has nicknames for her nephews. She does not "release" the nickname until the baby is here. For instance, Jax's nickname is Apple Jax. :) Well, Parker has two nicknames, which both are very fitting. One is Parker Poo and the other is Sparky. I think of him as Parker Poo when his hair is combed and Sparky when his hair is wild. Maybe all of you will feel the same way.

Hello everyone!! FINALLY I have updated the blog. We just got internet this afternoon and I promised Momma Lynn and Aunt Ashley that I would update it today. I hope you enjoy the pictures. Now that we have internet at home I am planning on updating the blog pretty often. Parker is a GREAT baby. Last night he went 4 hours and 45 minutes between one feeding and the next he went 3 hours and 45 minutes. So, I hear that is pretty amazing for a two week old. He is so good all of the time. He eats, sleeps, and stays awake the perfect amount of time. He is getting more and more alert every day. We love him so much and think he is the most beautiful baby boy in the world. Alright, speaking of, I need to go feed him. Enjoy!!
