Parker's Nursery

Ok, for those of you who have not seen Parker's nursery here are some pictures. Sorry it has taken me so long to post them. I LOVE his nursery. The only thing that is missing is I have a beautiful chunky 12x16 frame that is going to have one of Parker's newborn pictures in it. It will go right above the chair that is in the picture right above.

"Continue having firsts together"(Wade Lombard)

Well...Wade Lombard once told Derek and I that we should never stop having firsts together. I LOVE that advice!! That advice can continue on through your kids also. Derek and I just had our first baby. Now, we get to experience our baby's first moments when he does new things.
The top pictures were taken of Parker when we put him in the exersaucer for the first time. He loved it!!! We thought he would because he loves to stand up. The last two pictures are of Parker hanging out with me today. I needed to separate our laundry to put in the wash. So, I got some sheets that I was about to wash and plopped Parker right on top. He has never hung out with me right there when I did laundry. He loved it!! He just laid there and watched me. It was great. Don't forget to continue having firsts, even if you feel like you have already done everything(got married...had kids...) create a first!!

Family Beach Trip '07

Below are pictures from our beach trip with my family. We had soooo much fun and it was so relaxing. Parker was great the whole time we were there. We stayed for 7 days in a six bedroom house. We are hoping to book the exact same place for next year. It was a great end to the summer. We are sad, though, because Ashley, Jeremy and the boys had to leave to go back to Texas. We miss them, but are so thankful that they were able to spend the summer here in Birmingham. Enjoy!!

Here is a perfect picture. This is a picture of exactly what my dad does to entertain all of his baby grandsons. He makes noises with his mouth and they LOVE it!! My mom tried to do it once...lets just say it was not a success. Ha ha!

Parker in his crab float. This is where Parker, Gray and sometimes Jax hung out at the pool. It was so nice because it had a shade. Parker and Gray are too little to be able to really open their eyes at the pool. They both liked it MOST of the time. ha ha!

Good Morning Sunshine!

Ok, so my child wakes up with bed head...3 month olds do that all the time!! :) This morning I went to wake up Parker, I turned him on his back in his crib so he can stretch out, and I noticed how crazy his hair looked from sleeping on it all night. Then walks in his daddy. It was almost creepy how much they looked alike. They were staring straight at eachother and I promise if Parker wasn't so little they would look like identical twins!!! Crazy hair and all!!
Tomorrow morning we are leaving for the beach for 7 days with my family! We are so excited and cannot wait to enjoy every minute of our vacation. There will probably be tons of pictures posted after next week.

Our good friends Jonny and Chiara are moving to China for a year this week. They are going to be teaching at a university in China. We are going to miss them so much!! I cannot believe that when they get back Parker will be 1! These pictures were taken right before we had to officially tell them bye for a whole year!!! I was genuinely sad. We love you guys!!

This was at 8:30 in the morning. :) That is what time you get to the beach when you have a baby.
Parker's hair gets curly when it is wet. I tried to let it dry like that one time. It did NOT look good. I think we are going to stick with it being straight, just like his daddy's!
Family photo shoot. I really felt like that too since Derek's dad had two cameras and Amber(Lindsey's friend) had one camera.
Three generation of Mills. Derek and I have been getting a picture at this exact spot since I first went to the beach with his family(when we were first dating). So, of course, I had to continue the tradition since Parker has come along. Goodness, he makes the picture so much better!! :)

Parker's first beach trip went great. Although, it was more for us then him. He didn't even act like he was anywhere different than normal. We had to get him a hat because it was too bright for him to open his eyes when we took him outside. The hat was too big for him but it served the purpose. I think our next trip to the beach(in a few weeks) we might get more of a reaction out of him. He will almost be 4 months then.

Parker is so good all the time. He smiles all the time and it makes me laugh. He is now smiling back at me when I smile at him. It is my favorite when I am on the phone or doing something and I just look at him and smile and he grins sooo big back at me. He now moves in his crib. We have now found him completely in the opposite direction of the way we laid him down the night before. Today, I laid him in his gym and when I came back over there he had moved sideways!! He has yet to roll over but his cousin Gray, who is 1 month and 6 days younger than Parker has rolled over a few times. So, we tell him that he needs to catch up with his cousin. :) He is so sweet and laid back. He has lost no hair whatsoever! Ha ha! That is about all for now!

Update #3

Hello! I took Parker to the doctor for his 2 month check up on June 28th. He weighed 14lbs. 2oz. and was 24 inches long. He is in the 90th percentile for weight and heigth. He had to get 4 shots and 1 oral vaccine. Derek went with us so that I didn't have to do it alone. I think now I can handle it, but I am so glad he went with us this time. Parker did so good! He cried but once we picked him up he was fine. The nurse was so nice, which helped a lot. Parker is talking and smiling all the time. He lifts his head up so high when you lay him on his belly. And he LOVES to stand up. He thinks he such a big boy! Everyday with him is so great! Derek and I feel incredibly blessed to have him in our lives. He now sleeps around 11 or 12 hours straight at night. Which, I hear, is pretty incredible for his age. Anyways, that is all for this update. Thanks for "tuning" in. :)

Parker's 1st haircut!!

Parker got his first haircut last week. He was only 10 1/2 weeks old!! We sat him in his bumbo seat. He can't quite hold his head up yet so I had to hold him when my Aunt cut his hair in the back. He looked so cute sitting in his bumbo. When we first put him in the bumbo he was smiling like crazy. I wish I would have had my camera out for that, but I didn't!! I took before and after pictures. Enjoy! :)
